How to Use Pastel to Leave Website Feedback

Pastel is a simple and powerful tool we use to collect your feedback during the web design process. It allows you to click directly on the live website and leave comments —no logins or downloads needed.

Step-by-Step: Leaving Feedback with Pastel

1. Open the Link We Sent You

You’ll receive a unique Pastel link that looks like this:

https://share.pastel.com/yourproject

Click the link to open your website in Pastel.

2. Click Anywhere to Leave a Comment

Once your site loads:

  • Click directly on any part of the page where you want to give feedback.
  • A comment box will appear. Type your comment and click Post.
  • You can use @mentions to notify someone directly (like us or a team member).

Tip: Be specific (e.g., “Change this headline to: ‘Contact Our Team’”).

3. Switch Between Comment and Browse Mode

At the bottom of the screen, you'll see a toggle switch that lets you flip between:

  •  Comment Mode – Click anywhere to leave feedback.
  •  Browse Mode – Interact with the website normally (click buttons, test links, etc.).

Use the switch to test functionality and then return to comment mode.

4. Review or Reply to Comments

  • Comments from others appear as clickable pins.
  • Click any pin to read and reply to the comment.
